Abstract: Sepakbola adalah olahraga yang populer di Indonesia, tetapi banyak lapangan sepakbola di Indonesia memiliki kualitas yang buruk. Lapangan sepakbola modern menggunakan sistem drainase bawah permukaan dan rumput khusus lapangan sepakbola, pasir menjadi komponen utama drainase dan media tumbuh rumput. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1)mengetahui pengaruh ketebalan pasir terhadap drainase dan pertumbuhan rumput bermuda hibrida dan (2)mengetahui ketebalan lapisan pasir terbaik dalam mendukung drainase dan pertumbuhan rumput bermuda hibrida. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan lima perlakuan ketebalan lapisan pasir (5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm, dan 25 cm) dan tanah sebagai perlakuan kontrol, semua perlakuan diulang empat kali. Data hasil penelitian diuji dengan metode analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Valriabel dalam penelitian ini adalah kecepatan drainase dan pertumbuhan rumput yang meliputi panjang sulur, jumlah daun, dan jumlah tunas rumput, serta komponen hasil yang meliputi biomassa berangkasan (batang dan daun) rumput dan biomassa akar rumput. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ketebalan lapisan pasir berpengaruh terhadap drainase bawah permukaan lapangan sepakbola dan pertumbuhan rumput bermuda hibrida. Semakin tebal lapisan pasir menyebabkan peningkatan kecepatan drainase. Ketebalan lapisan pasir berpengaruh pada parameter panjang stolon, bobot kering berangkasan rumput, dan bobot kering akar. Ketebalan lapisan pasir terbaik sebagai media lapangan adalah 15 sampai 20 cm.
Football is a popular sport in Indonesia, but many football field in Indonesia have poor quality. Modern football field using subsurface drainage system and a special turf for football field, sand as a major component on drainage system and as grass growing medium. This study aimed to (1)determine the effect of sand layer thickness on drainage and the growth of hybrid bermuda grass; and (2)determine best sand layer thickness to support drainage and the growth of hybrid bermuda grass. The study was conducted by Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatmens sand layer thickness (5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm, and 25 cm) and soil as control treatment, all treatmens was repeated four times. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) and honestly significant difference (HSD) at significant level of 95%.the variabels in this tudy is the speed of drainage and the growth of grass wich include stolon length, leaves number, and shoots number of grass, as well as yield component include stems and leaves dry weight and rott dry weight of grass. Result showed sand layer thickness was affected on football field subsurface drainage and the growth of hybrid bermuda grass. Sand layer thickness affected on stolon length, dry weight of stems and leaves, and dry weight of roots. The best sand layer thickness as football field medium to support drainage and the growth of hybrid bermuda grass is 15 to 20 cm.
