Abstract: Known for its good hardware efficiency [2], Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer (CORDIC) is a popular algorithm for computing trigonometric f unctions. This paper presents a multif unction integrated design of a CORDIC. The system is capable of computing sine, cosine, rectangular to polar arcsine and arccosine using only one data processor block f or every stage. The system is implemented in a 3 stage pipeline structure. Each stage has been provided with a controller. The controllers are tasked to govern the timing of data transfer between stages. The design is then implemented on a Field Programmable Gate Arraychip and its perf ormance evaluated.
