Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan antara kemampuan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap etos kerja guru SD Negeri di Kecamatan Ambarawa, (2) ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan antara iklim kerja terhadap etos kerja guru SD Negeri di Kecamatan Ambarawa, dan (3) ada tidaknya pengaruh kemampuan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan iklim kerja secara bersamasama terhadap etos kerja guru SD Negeri di Kecamatan Ambarawa. Populasi penelitian adalah guru SD Negeri Ambarawa sebanyak 353 orang dan yang menjadi sampel 53 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan berbentuk angket yang disusun dalam bentuk skala Likert dengan lima pilihan jawaban. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara kemampuan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap etos kerja guru SD Negeri di Kecamatan Ambarawa; (2) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara iklim kerja terhadap etos kerja guru SD Negeri di Kecamatan Ambarawa; (3) Terdapat pengaruh antara kemampuan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan iklim kerja secara bersama-sama terhadap etos kerja guru SD Negeri di Kecamatan Ambarawa. Untuk meningkatkan etos kerja guru akan lebih tepat melalui peningkatan kemampuan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, misalnya dengan cara membimbing dan menyelesaikan masalah yang sedang dihadapi guru, dan penciptaan iklim kerja yang kondusif dengan cara melakukan komunikasi secara timbal balik.
This experiment has a purpose. It just knows about: (1) There are some effects or not which is significant among the headmaster or the headmistress leading ability toward work ethic of elementary school's teachers in Ambarawa subdistrict; (2) There are some effects or not the headmaster or the headmistress's who is significant among work atmosphere toward work ethic of elementary school (especially for own-state elementary school) teachers in Ambarawa district; (3) There are some effects or not of the headmaster or the headmistress leading ability and the work atmosphere by doing together toward work ethic of elementary school's teachers in Ambarawa district. According to this experiment which had been done. Amount of elementary school's teachers (especially own-state elementary school) population were 353 persons and 53 persons were samples. I used some polls or inquiries for my instrument which was arranged with Likert Scale with five choices of answer. The result of this experiment showed that: (1) There are some positive effects and significant among the headmaster or the headmistress's leading ability toward work ethic of elementary school's teachers school (especially for own-state elementary school) teachers in Ambarawa district; (2) There are some positive effects and significant among work ethic of elementary school's teachers (specially own-state elementary school) in Ambarawa district; (3) There are some effects between the headmaster or the headmistress leading ability and the work atmosphere by doing together toward work ethic of elementary school's teachers in Ambarawa district. Here, there some examples how way to increase the work ethic faster than before through increasing the headmaster or the headmistress leading ability. Those examples are. Guiding the teachers to finish some problems which are faced by them. Creating a contusive work atmosphere by feed and back communication
