This study is a correlational study aimed to determine the significance of the relationship between knowledge of teaching materials and teaching motivation with teaching performance in junior high school social studies teacher in Semarang district. The population in this study 150 teacher of junior high school of Semarang district, and 150 teachers taken by random as sample by random. Techniques of data gathering with questionnaires. Reliability test results for the three outcome variables excellent (very good) is above 0.90, while the validity of the test results showed the whole grain items declared valid by Corrected itemtotal correlation above 0.4. In order to use the statistical data analysis used Spearman Rho correlations. The results of this study are: (1) There is a significant relationship between knowledge of teaching materials with teaching performance in junior high school social studies a correlation coefficient rx1y = 0.440 and p = 0.000 p <0.05, (2) There is a significant relationship between teaching motivation with teaching performance in junior high school social studies correlation coefficients rx2y = 0.459 and p = 0.000 p <0.05, (3) There is a significant relationship between together knowledge of teaching materials and teaching motivation with teaching performance in junior high school social studies a correlation coefficient Rx12y = 0.542 and p = 0.000, p < 0,05. This study therefore means by higher, knowledge of teaching materials and higher teaching motivation to influence higher teaching performance in junior high school social studies.
