Abstract: Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah adalah model pengelolaan yang memberikan otonomi atau kemandirian kepada sekolah untuk mengembangkan dan memajukan sekolah dengan melibatkan peranserta masyarakat, melalui Komite Sekolah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui signifikansi perbedaan kinerja Komite Sekolah antara SD Negeri dan Swasta di Kecamatan Tingkir, Salatiga. Sebanyak 90 orang yang terdiri atas guru di SD Negeri dan SD Swasta di Kecamatan Tingkir, Salatiga dan juga pengurus Komite Sekolah dan Kepala Sekolah dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini. Data diambil dengan menggunakan angket yang diberikan kepada responden dan wawancara kepada pengurus Komite Sekolah dan Kepala Sekolah, dan observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis uji beda rata-rata dua sampel independen, dengan program SPSS 16.00. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kinerja Komite Sekolah di SD Negeri dan Swasta di Kecamatan Tingkir, Salatiga dengan nilai t hitung = 4.903 dan signifikansi sebesar 0,000 > 0,05.
School based management is a management model that gives an autonomy or independent in a school to develop and make progressive toward the school itself by involving the role of society, in the form of a school committee. The purpose of this research is to determine the significance of difference School committee's performance between Public and Private Elementary Schools in Tingkir District, Salatiga. As many as 90 teachers who are in public and private elementary schools in Tingkir district, Salatiga are involved as well as the school committees and the school principals. The data is taken using questionnaire distributed to the teachers and followed by interviewing and doing an observation toward the school committees and the school principals. The research data was analyzed using two independent – samples t-test analysis, which used 16th SPSS program. The result of this study shows that there is a significance difference School committee's performance between Public and Private Elementary Schools in Tingkir District, Salatiga as indicated by t-value =4.903 and the significance as 0,000 > 0,05.
