Abstract: The richness of Indonesia novels could not be separated from the appearances of young writers with their contemporary, or better known, popular novels. These teenage writers express their ideas in their ‘teen-lit' and ‘chick-lit' freely, using the non-standard language and slank words that many times against the guidance of standard language, set by The Department of Education and Culture. Rafika Wahyuningtyas, a 16-years old writer, used lots of English words and idioms to support her story of The Theatre School. The use of English words and idioms become an interesting issue to figure out the factors behind the changing of the language policy in Indonesia since The Theatre School got its International Standard Book Number (ISBN) from National Library of Indonesia, which means that there is a legal permission to its publication. As the goal of popular culture is to find out what the society want, think, feel, and believe, and then to transform its products into the desired images, these young writer are able to fulfill the thirst of young Indonesian readers to read literary products expressing their ideas using the language popular to their comprehension
