Abstract: The objectives of this study were : Firstly, to determine the effect of fixative types on the depth of shade color of cotton and silk which stained using pigment of quail egg shell revealed by RGB digital image processing method. Secondly, to determine the effect of fixative type on the fade proof color of cotton and silk toward washing which stained using pigment of quail egg shell and revealed by RGB digital image processing method. And thirdly, to determine the effect of fixative types on the fade proof color of cotton and silk using pigment of quail egg shell toward washing and ironing revealed by RGB digital image processing. Data of the depth of shade of color were analysed using Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD), with 3 treatment and 9 replication. As the treatments were the type of fixative which are FeSO4 (tunjung) 2 %, Al2(SO 4)3.18H2O (alum) 5 %, Ca(OH) 2 (lime) 2,5% respectively, and as the block were the processing time. Data of color fade proof were analyze using Covariance Analysis which laid out by Randomized Compeletely Block Design (RCBD), with 3 treatments and 9 replications. To test the difference between the treatment means, the honestly Significant Different (HSD) at 5% level significance were used. The result of this study showed that : 1) The use of tunjung as fixative on cotton and silk produce the darkest color in comparison, to alum and unslaked lime respectively, 2) Cotton material showed fadeless of color toward washing treated with all type of fixative, further more fade proof of color toward washing did not occur at green hue when treated with alum and lime. On the contrary, silk material did not show fadeless of color between defferent type of fixative, 3) Cotton material showed fadeless of color toward washing and ironing with all type of fixatives, with exeption of red and blue hue on the fixative alum and lime respectively. While silk material did not show fade less of color between defferent type of fixative
