Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perspektif karyawan generasi Y dan generasi X di Indonesia pada nilai individu, hubungan kerja dan sistem kerja. Perspektif pada nilai individu adalah mengenai kreatifitas, etika, adaptasi, kecepatan kerja, makna pekerjaan, dan learning style. Adapun perspektif pada hubungan kerja adalah mengenai teamwork, metode komunikasi, tipe kepemimpinan dan loyalitas. Sedangkan perspektif pada sistem kerja adalah mengenai pelatihan, feedback, job enrichment, promosi, rotasi kerja, kompensasi, instruksi pekerjaan yang perlu dilakukan, keterlibatan dalam pengambilan keputusan manajemen, work-family balance, dan fleksibilitas jam kerja.
Terdapat 175 karyawan generasi Y dan 84 karyawan generasi X di Indonesia yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Hasil yang didapat adalah bahwa karyawan generasi Y dan generasi X memiliki perspektif pada nilai individu, hubungan kerja dan sistem kerja yang sama, dimana mereka cenderung memiliki kreatifitas, menjunjung etika, mudah beradaptasi, kurang memiliki kecepatan kerja, mementingkan makna pekerjaan, memiliki learning style dimana senang mempelajari suatu hal secara bertahap, senang bekerja dalam teamwork, melakukan metode komunikasi langsung tatap muka, senang dengan tipe kepemimpinan partisipatif, ingin menjalankan pelatihan dengan metode konvensional, ingin mendapatkan feedback secara langsung segera setelah pekerjaan dilaksanakan, ingin menjalani job enrichment, bersedia menunggu promosi sesuai keputusan organisasi, mendukung rotasi kerja, puas dengan kompensasi yang ada, ingin mendapatkan instruksi untuk melakukan pekerjaan secara bertahap, ingin terlibat dalam pengambilan keputusan manajemen, mendukung work-family balance, dan fleksibilitas jam kerja. The aim of this research is to identify the perspective of employees of generation Y and generation X about individual value, work relation, and work system. The perspective of individual value is about creativity, ethics, adaptation, working speed, meaning of job, and learning style. The perspective of work relationshio is about teamwork, communication method, leadership style, and loyalty. Then the perspective of work system is about training, feedback, job enrichment, promotion, job rotation, compensation, job instruction, involvement in management decision making, work-family balance, and working hours flexibility. There are 175 respondents of generation Y and 84 respondents of generation X who participated in this research. The results showed that employees of generation Y and generation X have the same perspective on individual value, work relation and work system. They are employees who are creative, uphold ethics, adaptable, low working speed, value the meaning of job, have a learning stlye to learn one thing gradually, teamwork orientation, prefer face to face communication method, want to be trained by conventional method, want to get direct feedback as soon as work is completed, want to do job enrichment, willing to wait to get promotion, support job rotation, have compensation satisfication, want to get job instruction to do work gradually, want to be involved to make management decision making, support work-family balance, and want to have working hours flexibility. |
