Abstract: | Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) telah merambah masuk dalam semua aspek kehidupan termasuk pendidikan [1]. Di Indonesia, pengadaan TIK dalam pendidikan sudah berjalan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir seperti program siaran radio pendidikan untuk murid sekolah dasar, TV Edukasi, serta block grant TIK untuk sekolah menengah [2]. Pengadaaan perangkat TIK di SMK di Salatiga sebagian besar bersumber dari dana komite sekolah [3]. Meski penggunaan TIK sudah berlangsung dari sejak tahun 2003, tetapi belum ada evaluasi atas hal tersebut [3]. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan observasi, pembagian angket, dan wawancara di dua SMK swasta dan dua SMK negeri di Salatiga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan TIK di SMK di Salatiga dalam orde mingguan, yaitu penggunaan komputer (Desktop PC). Software yang paling banyak digunakan adalah MS Office dan software desain grafis seperti Corel, Photoshop, Drawing Paint. Perangkat TIK internet paling sering digunakan siswa untuk mencari referensi ketika mengerjakan tugas. Siswa setuju bahwa mereka menggunakan TIK dengan alasan TIK memudahkan atau menguatkan proses belajar. Meski demikian, dalam pelaksanaannya, penggunaan TIK mengalami hambatan atau tantangan seperti terbatasnya kualitas dan atau kuantitas perangkat TIK, sumber daya manusia yang masih kurang. Pada akhir penelitian ini, didiskusikan masukan untuk pihak-pihak terkait. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has penetrated into all aspects of life including education [1]. In Indonesia, the procurement of ICT in education has been running in recent years such as in a radio broadcast educational programs for primary school students, Education TV, as well as block grants ICT for secondary schools[2]. The procurement of ICT tools in vocational school in Salatiga is mostly funded by the school committee[3]. Although the use of ICT has been going on since 2003, but there has been no evaluation of it [3]. The method in this research is qualitative descriptive. Data were collected by observation, distribution of questionnaires, and interviews in two private and two state vocational schools (SMK) in Salatiga. The results showed that the use of ICT in vocational school in Salatiga in order weekly, especially the use of computer (Desktop PC). The most widely used softwares are MS Office and graphic design software such as Corel, Photoshop, Paint Drawing. The students use ICT tool mostly for accessing Internet, especially to search for references when they are doing their homework. Students agree that the use of ICT to facilitate or reinforce learning is very valuable and helping. However, in the practice, the students think that the use of ICT itself is full of obstacles; such as the limited quality and quantity of ICT tools and the lack of human resources. The study resulted in the discussion for the input to the relevant parties. |
