Abstract: Full backup merupakan sarana untuk mengatasi proses backup agar lebih cepat dan mudah saat operasi restore, tetapi full backup menyimpan seluruh data ke hard disk secara keseluruhan sehingga akan memakan ruang di hard disk jika backup selanjutnya menyimpan data yang sama. Hard link merupakan solusi dalam melakukan full backup ketika backup dilakukan terhadap data yang sudah pernah di backup sebelumnya. Karena dengan hard link, data yang sama akan dibuat link yang menuju sector yang sama sehingga menghemat ruang hard disk dan waktu. Namun untuk membuktikan hal tersebut peneliti melakukan pengecekan terhadap data yang telah di backup dengan mengunakan aplikasi Disk Editor, dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan terhadap hard link, dapat dibuktikan bahwa file yang sama di simpan di block sector yang sama dari file sebelumnya yang sudah pernah di backup. Hard link dapat diketahui dari atribut yang digunakan sama, dilihat dari hak akses, tanggal dan “ID” yang sama. Hard link dibuat berdasarkan request dari client, jika file mempunyai properties yang sama maka akan dibuat hard link di server dan jika tidak maka akan menuliskan file baru di hard disk.
Full backup is a means to cope the backup process to more quickly and easily during a restore operation, but a full backup stores all data to the hard disk as a whole so that it will take up less space on the hard disk when the next backup the same data store. Hard link is a solution to perform a full backup when the backup is done on the data that has ever been in a previous backup. Due to hard link, the same data will be made the link to the same sector thus saving disk space and time. But to prove that the researcher to check the data that has been backed up using the application Disk Editor, on the results of research that has been conducted against the hard links, it can be proven that the same file stored in the block sector of the same from the previous file that has been in backup. Hard links can be seen from the attributes that are used together, seen from the right of access, the date and "ID" of the same. Hard link is created by a client request, if the file has the same properties it will make a hard link on the server and if not then it will write new files on the hard disk.
