Abstract: | Sirih merah (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav) biasa digunakan sebagai anti bakteri, sehingga fungi yang hidup di dalamnya diduga memiliki kemampuan yang sama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui genus dari fungi endofit daun sirih merah serta mengetahui potensinya sebagai antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli dan Bacillus cereus. Penelitian ini diawali dengan mengisolasi fungi endofit, dilanjutkan dengan mengekstraksi filtrat kultur dan menguji kemampuan antibakterinya dengan metode KirbyBeauer. Dari isolasi yang telah dilakukan diperoleh satu isolate dari genus Gliocladium sp. Filtrat kulturnya efektif menghambat pertumbuhan S. aureus (bakteri gram positif) dengan diameter daya hambat 14,89 mm dan pada B. cereus(bakteri gram positif) dengan diameter daya hambat 19,67 mm sehingga termasuk dalam golongan antibiotik kuat. Akan tetapi filtrat kultur Gliocladium sp. tidak efetif menghambat pertumbuhan E. coli (bakteri gram negatif) sehingga filtrat kultur Gliocladium sp. termasuk dalam kategori antibakteri berspektrum sempit. Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Bacillus cereus. This research was begun by isolating the red betel vine’s endophytic fungi in purpose to obtain the filtrate of culture extract further by it was tested the antibacterial abilities by Kirby-Beauer method. From the isolation done, there was obtained the genus Gliocladium sp. Filtrate of the culture of that fungus effectively retarded the growth of S. aureus (Gram-positive bacteria) with retardant diameter of 14,89 mm and B. cereus (Gram-positive bacteria) with retardant diameter of 19,67 mm, which can be categorized as a strong antibiotic. Although, it is not effective in retarding the growth of E. coli (Gram-negativebacteria) which means that the filtrate of culture of liocladium sp. is categorized as narrow spectrum of antibacterial. |
