Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh coping with stress terhadap stres dan prestasi akademik ditinjau dari jenis kelamin siswa SMP Bentara Wacana, Muntilan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas 7, kelas 8, dan kelas 9 SMP Bentara Wacana yang berjumlah 133 orang yang terdiri dari 77 laki-laki dan 56 perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebar skala psikologi dan pengambilan nilai raport siswa. Ada dua skala psikologi yang disebarkan yakni skala Coping With Stress (Lazarus & Folkman, 1985) dan Stres (Sarafino, 2014). Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan mengunakan analisis regresi linier melalui program IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0. Melalui analisis regresi diperoleh hasil bahwa stres tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik siswa-siswi SMP Bentara Wacana Muntilan; coping with stress tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap stres siswa-siswi SMP Bentara Wacana Muntilan; dan perbedaan kemampuan coping with stress antara laki-laki dan perempuan ialah signifikan. The aim of this research is to find out about the effect of coping with stress toward stress and academic performance as viewed from sex of students in Bentara Wacana Junior High School. Samples of this research are 133 students which consisted of 77 males and 56 females. Data was collected by spreading psychological scale. There were two scales, which were Coping with Stress Scale (Lazarus & Folkman, 1985) and Stress Scale (Sarafino, 2014). All data is analyzed with linear regression analysis by IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0 program. The result showed that stress not affected academic performance of students in Bentara Wacana Junior High School; coping with stress not affected stress of students in Bentara Wacana Junior High School; and there were significant gender differences between male and female students in coping with stress. |
