Requiem: Untuk Solo Vokal, Koor dan Orkestra

Abstract

Requiem merupakan salah satu jenis komposisi untuk vokal yaitu misa. Dalam tradisi gereja Katolik, requiem dipandang perlu karena bertujuan untuk mendoakan arwah yang sudah meninggal agar masuk kedalam surga. Komposisi ini ditulis untuk solis-solis, koor dan orkestra. Terdapat 18 lagu secara keseluruhan dengan kriteria resitatif, aria, lagu koor dan instrumental orkes. Teknik komposisi menggunakan words painting, dimana syair dilukiskan dengan nada-nada tertentu agar pesan komposisi dapat sampai ke perasaan pendengar. Motif melodi dari komposisi ini mengutamakan kesederhanaan akan tetapi diolah sedemikian rupa hingga menjadi berstandar virtuos.

Requiem is one of the vocal compositions which called mass in Catholic Church tradition, Requiem is necessarily important as its purpose is to pray for the soul in purgatory in order to enter into heaven. This composition is written for the soloist, the choir, and the orchestra. There are 18 songs in a whole, with the criteria of recitative, arias, choir songs and orchestral instrument. The composition technique uses words painting, in which lyrics described with a certain tone so that the message of the composition can be absorbed into the feelings of the audiences. The motif of this composition melody gives priority to simplicity however it treated in such way to be a virtuous’ criterion.
