Keputusan Hutang Usaha Mikro: Pengujian Theory of Planned Behavior (Studi pada Usaha Kain Tenun di Sumba Timur)

Abstract

Financing decision, especially on debt still becomes an important issue for micro business owners. It is related to general problem faced by micro business owner, which is capital limitation that will impede them to develop their business. The main goal of this study is to understand which factors influence the behavior of the business owner of micro enterprises in making debt decision by using Theory of Planned Behavior. This research involves 177 respondents who are the owners of cloth weaving business located in seven production centers in East Sumba Regency, Indonesia. The result of this study showed that debt decision is determined by intentional factor in using the debt and perceived behavioral control. Further, intention to use the debt is influenced by the attitude of the business owners on the debt usage and social norms.
