Abstract: This research is aimed to obtain empirical evidences on the impact of ownership structure, size, age, number of directors (BOD) and commissioners (BOC), and auditor toward the financial performance of the local government owned banks (BPD). The financial performances were measured using CAMEL method (CAR, NPL, NPM, ROA, BPB, and LDR). 66 firmyears during 2006-2008 were employed as the samples. Based on statistical test, results showed thar the BPD's financial performances were simultaneously affected by ownership structure, age, size, number of BOD and BOC, and auditor. Local government ownership was positively affected the LDR and ROA. Company's age was negatively affected the CAR and NPL, but was positively affected the LDR. Company's size was negatively affected NPL, NPM, and LDR, but was positively affected the BOPO. The number of BOC had no impact to the financial performance. The number of BOD had positive affect to the LDR, but it had negative affect to the CAR. Other result evidenced that BPD that were audited by Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) has greater ROA but lower LDR.
