Perilaku Pemilih Pemula Mahasiswa dalam Pemilu Presiden 2009

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1). Menggambarkan perilaku pemilih dari pemilih pemula mahasiswa dalam pemilu Presiden 2009; 2). Menggambarkan perbedaan faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku pemilih pemula dibandingkan dengan perilaku pemilih yang diungkapkan oleh Firmanzah dan Nursal. Penelitian yang dilakukan di Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1. Perilaku pemilih pemula Mahasiswa UKSW dalam pemilu presiden sangat beragam diantaranya yaitu kesamaan Ideologi yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi melek politik, personal events yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi keharmonisan dan kondisi sejarah dari kandidat, orientasi policy problem solving yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi ekonomi, candidate personality (Citra Kandidat) yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi ketokohan, social imagery (Citra Sosial) yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi kedaerahan, kondisi kesadaran gender dan kondisi status sosial, current events (Peristiwa Mutakhir) yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi kesimpatikan, lingkungan yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi kurangnya kesadaran dan pendidikan politik, pengalaman dengan kandidat yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi kepuasan terhadap kepemimpinan sebelumnya, visi dan misi kandidat yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi yang menguntungkan rakyat, money politic (Politik Uang) yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi kesejahteraan masyarakat yang rendah. 2. Perbedaan faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku pemilih pemula dibandingkan dengan perilaku pemilih yang diungkapkan oleh Firmanzah dan Nursal yaitu Firmanzah lebih cenderung masuk kedalam pendekatan sosiologis sedangkan Nursal lebih cenderung masuk kedalam pendekatan psikologi sedangkan perilaku pemilih pemula yang tidak diungkapkan oleh Firmanzah dan Nursal namun merupakan faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilih pemula dalam penelitian ini yaitu politik uang.

This study was aimed to 1). describe first time student voters' behaviors in the 2009 Presidential election; 2). describe the factors differences that influenced the first time student voters' behaviors compared to voters' behavior that had been defined by Firmanzah and Nursal. The setting of this study was at Satya Wacana Christian University, located in a small town of Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia. This study was a qualitative descriptive research. This study found that : 1. The first time voters behaviors of SWCU students in the presidential election were various, such as the same ideology that was influenced by political literacy condition, personal events that were influenced by harmony and candidates history condition, orientation of policy problem solving that was influenced by economic condition, candidate personality that influenced by condition of prominent figure, social imagery that influenced by regional conditions, gender consciousness and social status conditions, current events that influenced by sympathy conditions, environment that influenced by lack of awareness of the condition and political education, experiences with the candidates that influenced by the satisfaction condition toward the previous leadership, vision and mission of the candidates that influenced by the condition that gave benefits to the people, money politic that influenced by the conditions of low public welfare. 2. The factors differences that influenced the first time student voters' behavior compared to the voters' behaviors defined by Firmanzah and Nursal. Firmanzah described it more likely on sociological approach while Nursal more on psychological approach. In this study there was another first time student voters' behaviors that had not been defined by Firmanzah and Nursal it was money politic.
