Abstract: | Munculnya new media, kini masyarakat lebih mudah dalam menjalin komunikasi. Media sosial merupakan salah satu bentuk dari new media (internet) yang dapat mempengaruhi gaya hidup para remaja. Yang menjadi fokus dalam penelitian ini adalah gaya hidup konsumtif para pengguna media sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media sosial terhadap gaya hidup konsumtif siswa SMA N 2 Salatiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner online kemudian diolah menggunakan Statistical Package of the Social Science (SPSS) 22 for windows. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan sosial media berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap gaya hidup konsumtif ditunjukkan dari nilai r hitung sebesar 0,696. Menunjukkan nilai korelasi tergolong kuat (> 0,600) dengan taraf signifikan (0,000 < 0,05). Besar pengaruh media sosial terhadap gaya hidup konsumtif siswa SMA N 2 Salatiga dapat dilihat dari Adjusted R Square sebesar 48,40% dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel yang lain diluar penelitian ini. Appearance of new media, nowdays citizens are easier for the comunnication. Social media is the one of the example of new media (as we called internet) which can influence the teenagers’ life style. The main focus for this observation is about consumptive life style which is used by the users of social media. The aim of this observation is for knowing the social media’s influence for the students of SMA N 2 Salatiga in their consumptive life style. The method that is used for this observation is quantitatif method using purposive sampling technique. Data collection from the online quesioner and then is proccesed using Statistical Package of the Social Science (SPSS) 22 for windows. The result from this observation showing that social media has the significant influence toward the consumptive life style which is showed by the calculating of r equals as 0,696. Showing the correlation value which is strong enough (> 0,600) with the significant (0,000 < 0,05). The big influence of social media in SMA N2 salatiga’s students for their consumptive life style can be seen from Adjusted R Square is about 48,40% and the rest is influenced by the others variable out of this observation. |
