Persepsi Siswa-Siswi SMA terhadap Fakultas Pertanian & Agribisnis dan Dunia Kerja Pertanian di Kota Salatiga Provinsi Jawa Tengah = Senior High School Students Perception Toward The Faculty of Agriculture & Agribusiness and The Work World of Agriculture in Salatiga, Central Java Province

Abstract

Saat ini ketertarikan siswa-siswi SMA akan Fakultas Pertanian dan bekerja dunia pertanian masih sedikit. Hal ini tentu sangat mempengaruhi keberlanjutan Fakultas Pertanian dan riskan menimbulkan masalah tentang pangan di masa depan. Bahkan bagi kaum muda terdidik yang lulus dari fakultas pertanian, hanya sedikit yang mau berprofesi sebagai petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mengetahui persepsi siswa-siswi SMA kelas XII di kota Salatiga terhadap Fakultas Pertanian dan dunia kerja pertanian. 2) Mengetahui bagaimana persepsi siswa-siswi SMA kelas XII di kota Salatiga mengenai dunia kerja di bidang pertanian. 3) Mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi siswa-siswi SMA kelas XII. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 10 September 2014 sampai tanggal 11 Oktober 2014 di SMA N 1 Salatiga, SMA N 2 Salatiga, SMA 1 Kristen Salatiga, dan SMA Laboratorium Satya Wacana Salatiga. Penentuan lokasi dilakukan secara sengaja. Dalam penelitian mengambil 181 responden dan data diambil menggunakan kuisioner kemudian diolah menggunakan spss analisis Crosstabs. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa banyak siswa-siswi tidak begitu mengetahui tentang adanya FPB UKSW dan tertarik terhadap dunia kerja pertanian. Saran untuk penelitian ini adalah perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan, perlu sosialisasi sejak dini tentang dunia pertanian kepada siswa-siswi sebagai bekal menghadapi masa depan. Perlu dilakukan promosi di SMA Kota Salatiga dan daerah asal mahasiswa FPB.

Nowadays, high school students’ interest of Agriculture Faculty and work in agriculture world is still very little. This problem certainly affects the sustainability of Agriculture Faculty and food in the future.Moreover, the educated young people who graduated from the Faculty of agriculture are few that want a profession as a farmer. The purpose of this research was to: 1) know the high school students’ of XII grader in Salatiga perceptions toward Faculty of Agriculture and the agriculture work world, 2) know how the high school students’ of XII grader in Salatiga perceptions toward work world of Agriculture sector, 3) find out the factor that influence the perception of the high school students’ of XII grader. This research was carried out on 10 September 2014 until 11 October 2014 in SMA N 1 Salatiga, SMA N 2 Salatiga, SMA 1 Kristen Salatiga, and SMA Laboratorium Satya Wacana Salatiga. There are 181 respondents as the sample taken for this research using questionnaires. The data was proceed using spss analysis crosstabs. The result of this research shows that there are still many students who do not fully educated about FPB of SWCU and are not interested enough about farming works. Thus, as a suggestion, futher research, and early socialization are needed in order to built awareness about farming to the students as their future knowledge. In addition, promotions can be one of alternative done by FPB students to high schools in Salatiga or their hometowns.
