Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja supervisi akademik Kepala Sekolah SMP di kota Salatiga dalam perencanaan , pelaksanaan , dan menindak lanjuti hasil supervisi akademik; mengetahui kendala dalam melaksanakan supervisi akademik ; serta mengetahui solusi atau upaya untuk mengatasi kendala dalam pelaksanaan supervisi akademik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode diskriptif, dengan jenis penelitian evaluatif (evaluasi kinerja). Nara sumber Kepala Sekolah dan para guru dari enam SMP di kota Salatiga. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi (pengamatan), interview (wawancara), kuesioner/ angket, maupun dokumen. Teknik validasi data yang digunakan adalah uji kredibilitas data dengan triangulasi teknik pengumpulan data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: Kinerja dalam perencanaan supervisi akademik kategori “kurang”. Ini menggambarkan dalam perencanaan supervisi akademik masih belum memenuhi harapan; Kinerja dalam pelaksanaan supervisi akademik, kategori antara cukup – baik dan satu sekolah masih kurang. Ini menunjukkan kinerja dalam pelaksanaan supervisi akademik masih harus ditingkatkan ; Kinerja dalam menindak lanjuti hasil supervisi akademik , kategori cukup. ada satu sekolah yang belum melaksanakan. Ini menunjukkan kinerja tindak lanjut hasil supervisi akademik belum memenuhi harapan.; Kendala yang paling banyak dihadapi: banyaknya tugas Kepala Sekolah serta terbatasnya waktu, dan faktor SDM; Solusi atau upaya yang dilakukan antara lain Pembentukan Tim supervisi akademik atau Tim PKG , Pembinaan Kepala Sekolah kepada dewan guru , pelatihan Kepala Sekolah, pendampingan oleh pengawas sekolah. Direkomendasikan : Bagi Kepala Sekolah agar melaksanakan setiap tahapan supervisi akademik sesuai dengan indikator kinerja yang telah ditentukan; Bagi guru agar menjadikan kegiatan supervisi akademik sebagai wahana untuk membantu guru agar mampu melakukan proses pembelajaran yang berkualitas; Bagi Pengawas Sekolah agar memberikan pendampingan kepada para Kepala Sekolah; Bagi Disdikpora. kota Salatiga agar memprogramkan Pelatihan implementasi kompetensi supervisi akademik Kepala Sekolah SMP di kota Salatiga.
This study aimed to evaluate the performance of junior high school principal academic supervision in Salatiga in the planning , implementation, and follow up on the results of academic supervision; knowing the constraints in implementing the academic supervision; and to know the solutions or efforts to overcome the obstacles in the implementation of academic supervision. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, with the type of evaluative research (performance evaluation). Resource persons Principals and teachers from six secondary schools in Salatiga. Data collection techniques with observation, interviews, the questionnaire, as well as documents. Data validation technique used is the credibility of the data with the triangulation of data collection techniques. Based on the results of this study concluded that: Performance in academic supervision planning category of "less". It describes the planning of academic supervision still does not meet expectations; Performance in the implementation of academic supervision, a category between good enough - and the schools are still lacking. It shows the performance in the implementation of academic supervision needs to be improved; Performance in following up the results of academic supervision, enough category. there is a school that has not been carrying out. It shows the performance of the follow up of academic supervision has not met expectations .; The most widely encountered obstacles: the amount of the principal tasks and limited time and human factors; Solutions or efforts made, among others, academic supervision Team or Team PKG, Development Principal to the teachers, the principal training, mentoring by the school superintendent. Recommended: For the principal to carry out each stage of academic supervision in accordance with predetermined performance indicators; For teachers to make academic supervision activities as a vehicle to help teachers to be able to do a quality learning process; School Supervisors to provide assistance to the Principal; For Disdikpora. Salatiga that the implementation of training programs for academic supervision competence Principal of SMP in Salatiga.
