Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi implementasi pendidikan karakter, mengevaluasi hasil implementasi pendidikan karakter dan mengevaluasi faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi hasil implementasi pendidikan karakter di SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi partisipatif dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles and Huberman dan menggunakan Goal Free Evaluation Model. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga mengimplementasi pendidikan karakter ke dalam budaya sekolah, ke dalam setiap mata pelajaran dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Implementasi pendidikan karakter ke dalam budaya sekolah pada SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga menyebutnya dengan sebutan kegiatan pembiasaan dan menjadi sebuah kebiasaan yang dilakukan setiap hari. Hasil implementasi pendidikan karakter di SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga sangat baik. Terlihat dari nilai UN yang meningkat dalam tiga tahun terakhir, lingkungan sekolah yang bersih, semakin disiplin dalam hal tepat waktu ke sekolah, dan warga sekolah sangat ramah dengan tamu dari luar sekolah. Semua ini didukung dengan beberapa faktor yaitu dari guru-guru SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga dan orang tua siswa yang menjadi contoh atau panutan kepada siswa. Dukungan dari pemerintah berupa menyelenggarakan kegiatan yang berkaitan dengan pendidikan karakter, seperti lomba sekolah terbaik implementasi pendidikan karakter se-Jawa Tengah. This qualitative reasearch aims to evaluate the implementation of character education, the results, and the factors that serve as the background ofthe implementation resultof character education at SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga. Data were gathered by means of interview, observation, and documentation study. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman Model and Goal Free Evaluation Model.The research results reveal that SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga implements character education in the school’s culture, as seen in every class and extracurricular activity. The implementation of character education within the school culture of SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga is called by the term “an adjustment activity” and is commonly done every day. The results in implementing character education at SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga are very good. It is seen from the National Examination scores that have improved in the last three years, the clean school environment, students being more disciplined in coming to school on time, and the school community being friendly with guests outside of the school. All of this is supported by several factors, including teachers from SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga and students’ parents who serve as examples or role models for students. Support from the government in the form of holding activities related with character education, like school contests are best implemented with character education throughout Central Java. |
