Abstract: The average yield of red chilli in Indonesia per hectare is 8.47 tons in 2016. One of the efforts to increase production is the use of new high yielding varieties. At present on the market many emerging new varieties that have higher yield potential. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the seedlings in the nursery and the production of red chili on the land of various varieties that were tried. The experiment was carried out on the SWCU Agriculture and Business Faculty experimental field, located in Wates Village, Getasan District, Semarang Regency, Central Java Province at an altitude of 900 m above sea level from December 2017 to August 2018. The type of soil in the experimental location included the Andosol type. The study was carried out with a randomized block design with 7 treatment varieties and 4 replications. The treatments for the varieties tested were OR Twist 42, KRIDA, JINAWI, PHOENIX, OR 33, INKO, and PM. Data were analyzed by Anova and if significant differences continued with DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) at P <0.05. The results showed that the red pepper the varieties tested tested significantly affected plant height where the highest plant height achieved by PHOENIX varieties was significantly higher than the variety, OR 33, INKO, and PM. For seed germination between 75.4% -94.2%; average seedling height ranges from 3.4 to 5.8 cm; the number of leaves ranged between 3-5 strands. The average number of fruit per variety varied between 33.3-43.7 fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant ranged from 135.49 to 220.78 g; weight per fruit ranges from 3.6 to 5.6 g.
