Abstract: The research aim was to know both the growth and yield of rice plant which was planted based on pranata mangsa calendar combined with spacing row of planting systems. The research was conducted at dukuh Seling, Karang Jati village, Wonosegoro subdistict, Boyolali regency, Central Java province from 28th October 2016 until 27th January 2017. The treatments tested were spacing row of planting systems of 6:1 versus 2:1. Result data were analyzed by using analysis of varience (ANOVA) and orthogonal contrast test at 95% confident level. The result showed that the wet and dry mass weight of plants, and empty grain numbers in row spacing of planting systems of 6:1 lower than 2:1. Presumably the photosynthates were still remained in vegetative part of plant. However tiller number per plant, spikelet length, number of filled grain, grain weight per plot, grain weight per hectare and 1000 grain weight in row spacing of planting systems of 6:1 higher than 2:1. This was because the appropriate time of planting rice based on pranata mangsa, and the density of plant population of 6:1 was higher than 2:1.
