Abstract: In English language teaching, storytelling is one of the effective methods to improve students’ language development. As a result, the researcher of this study inquired about teachers’ perceptions toward the use of storytelling for English language learning. The researcher conducted an investigation based on the research question: “What are teachers’ perceptions toward the use of storytelling for English language learning?” The present study employed qualitative method. The instrument of the data was semi-structured interview. The participants of the study consisted of eight teachers from six different private Elementary schools in Salatiga. Four major findings shows about the use of storytelling is beneficial, the use of AVAs to accompany storytelling session, the use of storytelling to teach language aspects and challenges that teachers faced while telling stories in classroom. It is expected that this study canincrease teachers’ awareness of using storytelling for English language learning.
