Abstract: | Technology is well-known in the education field and plays an important role in teaching and learning. YouTube is one of the media technology which grabs students attention in learning English. There are opportunities provided by YouTube for students to learn English in fun ways. YouTube offers advantages for students in overcoming their problems with English. The aims of this study are to know the junior high school students’ especially the eighth grader's perceptions of the use of YouTube videos for learning English. The participants were the eighth-graders of SMP Kristen Satya Wacana Salatiga. A questionnaire and interview are used to collect the data information from the students’ perceptions of the use of YouTube in learning English. The finding shows that by using YouTube, students understanding of English are improved. The use of YouTube is fun and it improves their comprehension in listening, pronunciation and vocabulary skill. |
