Abstract: Mind map as one of creative teaching techniques in the form of note taking that offers teachers a solution to create an enjoyable classroom activity assisted by pictures, colors, and clustering collaboration. Since few years ago mind map has been used and known both to teach and self note-taking. Therefore, this study aimed to find out the way teachers implement mind map as a teaching technique. The participants were two English teachers from a private school in Salatiga. The teachers were observed when they implemented mind map and were interviewed to explore more about the clarity of every action. The data showed that the teachers used simple designs of mind maps and used display question and answer activities to support the mind map technique. The last, the technique was to utilize the function of colors as the decoration of the mind map.
