The recognition of spotted skin disorder in form of birth mark (nevus) has to be done preliminarily to avoid dangerous skin disorder. The physical change of nevus can be the preliminary symptom of dangerous skin disorder. However, the differences between nevus and normal skin are difficult to be seen directly. Therefore, the method that can observe the differences between nevus and normal skin is needed. Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) is a characterized method which makes measurement without breaking the samples, so that it can be applied in observing the characterization and in differentiating nevus and normal skin. The multi-variant method of Principal Component Analysis(PCA) was also used in identifying nevus and normal skin. The PCA resulted in 2 plots of PC dimension, namely PC1 and PC2 with the accuracy percentage of PC 1 was 97% and PC2 was 2%. The PCA plots showed that nevus and normal skin could be well and clearly differentiated, as seen from the nevus coordinate which was not mixed with the normal skin coordinate. |
