Perubahan Peran Gender Dalam Usahatani Integrasi Salak Kambing Program Pertanian Bioindustri di Kab. Sleman, DIY

Abstract

Bioindustrial agriculture program integration ofzalacca-goat has been developed in Girikerto Village, Turi District, Sleman Regency, DIY province since 2015. Various agricultural innovations have been developed in 5 farmer groups in the farming system integration ofzalacca-goat. Therefore, it is necessary to know the change in gender roles in managing the business zalacca-goat in these locations as the purpose of this study. The survey was conducted in 35 respondents which representedevery householdof farmer groups with randomly sampling for interviewing guided by questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing the roles of men, women and youth in one farmer household in salacca-goatfarming activities, also compared between before and after the program. The result show that there are changes in men and women roles between before and after the program. This is due to the introduction of post-harvest processing of milk and zalacca which makes women more busy, so that women activities in the cultivation of zalacca are reduced. Meanwhile, the role of youth is relatively constant between before and after the program, perhaps youth have not been involved in activities so that making activities that reach out and attract young people arenecessary.
