Analisis Kesenangan Bermain antara Pemain Pro dan Awam dalam DotA 2 dengan Menggunakan XGameFlow: Studi Kasus Kota Semarang

Abstract

Fenomena DotA 2 sebagai salah satu game E-sport yang pernah mengadakan turnamen dengan total hadiah mencapai lebih dari 25 juta dolar Amerika. DotA 2 menjadi game E-sport dengan genre MOBA(Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) favorit dan salah satu game dengan jumlah pemain terbanyak. Oleh karena itu perlu dicari penyebab dari banyaknya jumlah pemain yang memainkan DotA 2. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penyebab fenomena yang terdapat pada DotA 2 dengan menggunakan model XGameFlow sebagai tolak ukurnya. Untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor tersebut, maka dilakukan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif kepada para pemain pro dan pemain biasa DotA 2. Hasil dari penelitian yaitu faktor Interaksi Sosial yang menjadi faktor utama kesenangan bermain DotA 2.

The DotA 2 phenomenon as one of the E-sport games that once held a tournament with a total prize of more than 25 million US dollars. DotA 2 is an E-sport game with the favorite MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) genre and one of the most number of players. Therefore it is necessary to find the cause of the large number of players who play DotA 2. This study aims to analyze the causes of the phenomena found in DotA 2 using the XGameFlow model as a benchmark. To find out these factors, a qualitative and quantitative approach was taken to the pro players and ordinary players of DotA 2. The results of the study were Social Interaction factors which were the main factors in the pleasure of playing DotA 2.
