Abstract: Peer tutor is one way used to help students learn a language by asking competent students to assist the less competent students. Seeing there have only been a few researchers who discussed peer tutor grammar in EFL context. This study investigate peer tutor challenges and strategies on how to deal with the challenges involved in the grammar clinic program of the English Language Education Program. A qualitative method was used in the study where 10 grammar tutors from an English Language Education program were interviewed using a semi-structured interview. The results of the interview showed that grammar tutors faced different kinds of difficulties in teaching grammar, which included difficulties in motivating students, difficulties in preparing the materials, dealing with students’ lack of exposure to English, facing students’ with different level of proficiency and dealing with slow learners’. In addition to this, the findings of the study revealed ways tutors used in handling the challenges.
