Abstract: This study presents a quantitative survey research in Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW), Salatiga Central Java, Indonesia. This study attempted to answer the research question: “What are the students’ perception about the use of smarthphones for language learning?”. This paper reports on the results of a survey of fifty-five students from English Department (ED) of Faculty of Language and Arts about the use of smartphones for language learning. A questionnaire is developed with 20 statements to measure students' perceptions on the use of smartphone for language learning. A four point Likert Scale with strongly agree; agree; disagree; and strongly disagree, is used. An analysis of the quantitative survey findings is presented focusing on the students intensity in using smartphones and how they use it for language learning. This study might be beneficial for the students and the teacher for academic setting especially for language learning.
