Abstract: This present study aimed to investigate the implication of the students' thesis topic choice on their feelings about their thesis and how it affected their writing process. It also addressed the following questions: a) “How do the students get their thesis topic and how is their feeling about their choice?” b) “What are the students' perceptions about their thesis topic choice and the implication it has on their attitude/mood about their thesis writing process?” The participants consisted of 10 fourth year students enrolled in Thesis and Thesis Lanjut classes offered at English Department, Satya Wacana Christian University. The data came from 10 semi-structured interviews. The transcripts of the interviews are then being analyzed using a categorical-content analysis to seek the emerging themes. The study found two major findings. Pedagogical implications of the findings will also be addressed at the end of the paper.
