Abstract: This study aims to analyze the practice of Human Resource Business Partner in Indonesia, how to build competence, and assess the effectiveness of their Human Resource Business Partner. This study is an analysis of the Autobiographical Accounts by taking the data in social media accounts, Linkedin. A total of 189 accounts of HRM practitioners taken for the pathway category of Human Resource Business Partner. However, only seven accounts that is used as a resource with in-depth interviews via email. The results first, show three pathway of Human Resource Business Partner based on analysis of autobiography in Linkedin account. Second, build competence model of Human Resource Business Partner in Indonesia, which is then compared with Brockbank and Ulrich competency model, (2002). Third, to build competence by Human Resource Business Partner which is categorized in two ways Formal and Informal. And fourth, is their assessment of the effectiveness of their own in the role of Human Resource Business Partner.
