Abstract: Pemangkasan cabang untuk menunda pembungaan/pembuahan serta pemberian mikoriza untuk meningkatkan serapan hara fosfor yang mempengaruhi kuantitas dan kualitas benih mentimun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemangkasan cabang, pemberian mikoriza dan kombinasi keduanya terhadap produksi dan mutu benih mentimun, serta menentukan perlakuan pemangkasan cabang terbaik pada perlakuan yang diberi maupun tidak diberi mikoriza. Penelitian ini dilakukan di lahan produksi benih PT Primasid Andalan Utama yang berada di Kalibeji, Muncul, Kabupaten Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan perlakuan split-plot dan rancangan lingkungan RAK. Petak utama dengan 2 taraf, yaitu tanpa pemberian mikoriza (M0) dan pemberian mikoriza (M1), sedangkan anak petak dengan 4 taraf, yaitu Perlakuan Pemangkasan sampai cabang ke 2, 3, 4 dan 5 (P1, P2, P3 dan P4). Hasil pengamatan dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam (uji F), mean dan standar deviasi. Uji lanjut menggunakan DMRT. Pemangkasan cabang menurunkan bobot 1000 butir dan kecepatan berkecambah, pemangkasan cabang juga menaikkan bobot benih per tanaman dan keserempakan tumbuh. Pemberian mikoriza menurunkan jumlah benih bernas dan bobot benih kering per buah, interaksi pemberian mikoriza dan pemangkasan sampai cabang ke 2 menghasilkan kecepatan berkecambah dan keserempakan tumbuh terbaik. Tanpa pemberian maupun pemberian mikoriza dan pemangkasan sampai cabang ke 5 meningkatkan bobot benih per tanaman dan keserempakan tumbuh.
Pruning branches to delay flowering or fruiting, as well as the application of mycorrhiza to increase nutrient uptake of phosphorus which affects the production and quality of cucumber seeds. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of branch pruning, application of mycorrhizae and a combination of both in order to increase the production and quality of cucumber seeds, and determine the best pruning treatment with or without mycorrhiza. This research was carried out in the PT Primasid Andalan Utama seed production area located in Muncul, Semarang Regency. This study used a split-plot treatment design and RAK environmental design. The main plot with 2 levels, namely control/without mycorrhiza (M0) and mycorrhiza application (M1). Pruning the branches as the subplots with 4 levels, were pruning to the second, third, fourth and fifth branches of the cucumber plant (P1, P2, P3 and P4). The results of the observations were analyzed using variance (F test), mean and standard deviation. Further testing using DMRT. Branch pruning reduced the weight of 1000 grains and speed of germination, also increased seed weight per plant and speed of germination. Mycorrhiza application decreased the number of seeds and dry seed weight per fruit. Interaction of mycorrhiza application and pruning until the second branch produced speed of germination and simultaneous of germination. With or without mycorrhiza and pruning to the 5th branch increasing seed weight per plant and simultneous of germination.
