Abstract: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan mengapa petani mau bermitra dengan perusahaan SOM, apa motivasinya, serta apa saja yang mempengaruhi motivasi tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melibatkan variabel seperti pendidikan, pengalaman berusaha tani, motivasi berusaha tani, kompetensi, motivasi bermitra serta variabel manfaat yang diterima setelah bermitra. Metode cluster sampling diterapkan yaitu petani yang bermitra dan tidak dengan jumlah sampel 30 responden yang terbagi dua yang mana 15 responden merupakan mitra SOM (Sayur Organik Merbabu) dan 15 lainnya merupakan petani yang tidak bermitra. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa petani mau bermitra karena petani merasa ada manfaat yang diterima ketika bermintra dan sebaliknya. Petani yang memiliki motivasi berusaha yang tinggi akan mau bermitra dengan perusahaan SOM. Penelitian mendatang perlu diarahkan pada dinamika bermitra dengan perusahaan seperti proses transfer teknologi, peningkatan kompetensi dan peningkatan pendapatan dan peningkatan budaya bisnis
The purpose of this study is to explain why farmers want to coorporate with SOM companies, what motivations they have, and what things influence their motivations. This study applies a quantitative descriptive approach which involves variables such as education, farming experience, farming motivation, competence, partner motivation and the benefits variable received after partnering. The cluster sampling method is also applied, namely farmers. Farmers who are partners and not, seperated into a sample of 30 respondents which divided also in two group which are 15 respondents are working in SOM (Merbabu Organic Vegetables) and 15 others are farmers who are not working in SOM. The results of the study reveals that farmers want to work with SOM because they feel that there are advantages that creates a win-win situation. Farmers, who have a higher business motivation, are more likely coorporating with SOM manufacture. In the Future research, it needs to be directed at the dynamics of coorporating with manufactures such as the technology of transfering, increasing competence, increasing income and improving business culture.
