Later, in the symbolic violence concept, there is a product that is produced by it, which is domination power. These concepts has been a structure in producing a short story entitled, “The Dream Wave”. The Dream Wave, is a short story with school as background of the story with each characters that live in a metropolitan city. The story narrates with Tina as an ordinary girl in a well-known senior high school in Jakarta. A sincere friendship between Tina and her two best friends, Tirta, the smartest student in the school, and Danar the son of the principal, who was popular as a clumsy boy colored a journey of Tina’s dream. The economic background of the family and the social status didn’t block their relationship. Alika, a new comer of the school with her miserable background from her previous school, tried to break their relationship and tore Tina’s hope. Tina’s wave of dream to get a university scholarship was blurred by the power of rich family and the school committee. However, her two best friends helped her to stretch the power domination out that had been rooted in her school. Finally, the wave of power domination was rived by truth, honesty, and sincerity of Tina.
