Abstract: The objective of the study : Firstly , optimation of rendement of dye powder from bashful plant as revealed by maltodekxtrin additions and various boiling time. Secondly, to determine the colour of unbleached plain cloth which stained using dye powder from bashful plant as revealed by different fixative ( tunjung, prusi, alum, and lime). The result of the study showed that : 1) Rendement of dye powder from bashful plant obtained optimal in amount of 19,15 ± 1,43 gram at 20% maltodextrion additions and 30 minutes boiling time. 2) The colour of unbleached plain cloth which stained using dye powder from bashful plant is the darkest colour consecutively of fixation of tunjung, prusi, alum, and lime.
