Abstract: In order for students to maximize the use of L2 in EFL classroom, teacher need to create an environment which is help the their students able to communicate using L2. The aim of the study is to investigate the strategies which high school teachers use to help their students maximizing the use of L2 in EFL classroom. The result of the study shows that most of the teachers were aware that high frequency of L2 usage in the classroom is necessary to stimulate the students’ communicative skill in the target language. This also supported with the use of activities which can make the students to be more interactive in the class and giving motivation which can gain the students’ confidence to use L2.The findings of this research may help the teachers to apply strategies that they can use to help their students to maximize the use of their L2.
