Abstract: This research explain about competence gap in PT HM Sampoerna. This study based on fact that happened at PT HM Sampoerna in addressing the gap. This paper’s aim is to explain the process of competence gap, also the considerations and actions by companies and workers to fit the gap. Competence gap that experienced by PT HM Sampoerna is due to the demands to adapt the change. Efficiency and urgency factors require the company took the decision to move people from one position to another position . This action cause a problem of competence gaps . Companies addressing the problem by provide training before and after the transition office . Cultural organizations that implement continuous learning is also support companies and workers to solve the problems of this competence gap.
