Abstract: Bertambahnya jumlah populasi lansia juga menyebabkan meningkatnya berbagai penyakit termasuk malnutrisi. Tetapi, sayangnya pemilihan makanan petani lansia belum bervariasi.
The increasing number of the older population also causes an increase in various diseases including malnutrition. To overcome this, the choice of food for the older in their environment must be considered. Moreover, the older tend to experience decreased access to healthy and nutritious food due to physical limitations. In 1999, the SPPQT organization was formed for farmer groups as a medium for connecting people and food through an empowerment program that it runs. This study aims to evaluate the role of empowering SPPQT for the elderly in an effort to increase food supply which has an impact on access and choice of food for the older. This research was conducted in September - December 2020 using descriptive qualitative methods. This study involved 5 participants who were interviewed. Data analysis techniques were carried out by making interview transcripts, coding, determining themes and writing data in narrative form. Based on the results of the study, it is known that SPPQT has no responsibility in meeting food needs including food selection and access for all farmers, including the older. The SPPQT program is only limited to farmer empowerment involving all SPPQT older farmers. However, access to food for all farmers, including older farmers, is good. But, unfortunately the selection of food for older farmers has not varied. Therefore, it is recommended to SPPQT to be able to develop a farmer group program that also involves older farmers related to increasing knowledge of variations in food sources through agricultural products.
