Title: Pre-Service EFL Teachers' Strategies in Dealing with Junior High School Students Misbehavior in English Classes

Abstract: Students’ misbehavior can sometimes be a challenge for teaching practicum students or novice teachers because it can disturb the learning process and they may not have sufficient skills to deal with this matter. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the strategies used by Teaching Practicum students in handling students’ misbehavior in English classes. This study was done qualitatively, conducted in a remote area in Central Java. The participants of this study were10 Teaching Practicum students who were taking Teaching Practice in a school in Semester I - 2020/2021, and the data was collected by doing interviews. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situations, the interview was done via Zoom meeting. The result shows that there were some misbehaviors done by students. For example, students being noisy, walking around the classroom, disrespecting, talking to each other. Also, there are some strategies that were used by teaching practicum students to handle the misbehavior. They were, giving punishment, involving students in the learning process, and creating good bonding.
