Abstract: The study of furfural optimation and complex fertilizer from rice straw had been conducted. The purposes of this study were to produce optimum furfural rendemen and complex fertilizer as revealed by the rice varieties, H2SO4 concentrations, and substrate mass ratio and H2SO4 and its interactions. The varieties were Ciherang and IR64. The acid concentrations were as follows 12,5%, 15% and 17,5% respectively and substrate mass ratio and H2SO4 were as follows: 1:20, 1:22,5 and 1:25, respectively. Rice straw was mixed with additives and then hydrolized by using different H2SO4 concentration, and substrate mass ratio and H2SO4. The hydrolysis results were measured by using UV-Vis specthrophotometer at 495 nm wavelength and the residues were compared based on the Permentan. The results showed optimum furfural rendemen of both varieties are obtained by substrate mass ratio and H2SO4 1:20, the H2SO4 concentration 12,5% (IR64) and 15% (Ciherang). All fertilizers had been fulfilled to the Permentan of solid organic fertilizer of water content (CN 1:20 and IN 1:20), heavy metals, Nitrogen (IN 1:20 and N1K2), contaminant microbe E.coli, and micro nutrients only.
