Entropy: A Marxist Study of Act of Commodification in Cyberpunk Dystopia

Abstract

Entropy comprised about a young man who is in journey of seeking a new experience in a giant megapolis to fulfil his childhood dream only to find out that it would turn into to dust in a blink of eye. This apocalyptic plot is for a reason a cause of a heavy implementation of commodification in the futuristic cyberpunk dystopia which exists in the anarcho-capitalistic system. With that being said, Marxist theory is used as a fundamental perspective in the research and the creative work. The author also used various means of creative works such as games, comics, and music in adapting the elements to craft a new work. This short story is expected to give readers or writers an insight about the phenomenon of commodification in the cyberpunk dystopia.
