Lama Pemberian ASI Berhubungan dengan Status Gizi Balita

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara berkembang yang masih memiliki masalah kesehatan terkait dengan status gizi balita. Status gizi balita merupakan keseimbangan antara kebutuhan dan asupan dari makanan. Salah satu faktor yang dapat memengaruhi status gizi adalah asupan zat gizi yang diperoleh. Asupan zat gizi yang diperoleh anak sejak lahir hingga usia 24 bulan diperoleh dari Air Susu Ibu (ASI) dan Makanan Pendamping ASI (MP-ASI). Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan riwayat pemberian ASI dan riwayat awal pemberian makanan pendamping ASI terhadap status gizi balita (24-36 bulan) di wilayah kerja puskesmas Sidorejo-Kidul, Salatiga. Metode yang digunakan adalah menggunakan data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil pengukuran antropometri dan instrument kuesioner. Desain penelitian dengan kuantitatif korelasi dan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Analisis data menggunakan analisis univariat dan bivariate dengan uji Chi-Square. Uji Chi-Square untuk mengetahui hubungan lama pemberian ASI dan usia awal pemberian MP-ASI terhadap status gizi balita (24-16 bulan). Hasil penelitian berdasarkan uji Chi- Square didapatkan variabel pemberian ASI eksklusif (p= 0,591), pemberian kolostrum (p= 0,614), pemberian susu formula/minuman lain < 6 bulan (p= 0,664), pemberian ASI ≥ 2 tahun (p= 0,011), dan riwayat awal pemberian MP-ASI (p= 0,795). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pemberian ASI eksklusif, pemberian kolostrum, pemberian susu formula/minuman lain < 6 bulan dan riwayat awal pemberian MP- ASI dengan status gizi balita (24-36 bulan) menurut indeks BB/U (p > 0,05). Pemberian ASI ≥ 2 tahun terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dengan status gizi balita (24-36 bulan) menurut indeks BB/U (p < 0,05).

Indonesian is a developing country that still has health problems related to the nutritional status of children. Toddler nutritional status is a balance between the needs and intake food. One factor that can affect nutritional status is the intake of nutrients obtained. Nutrient intake obtained by children from birth to age 24 months is obtained from breastfeeding and Complementary feeding. The purpose of this study was to describe the correlation of breastfeeding history and early history of complementary feeding to nutrition status of children under five (24-36 months) in the Sidorejo-Kidul community health center, Salatiga. The method used is to use primary data obtained from anthropometric measurements and questionnaire instruments. Research design with quantitative correlation and using cross sectional approach. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square test. Chi-Square Test to determine the relationship between the duration of breastfeeding and the age at which MP-ASI is given to the nutritional status of children under five (24-16 months). The results of the study based on the Chi-Square test showed that the variables were exclusive breastfeeding (p= 0,591), colostrum (p= 0,614), formula milk/other drinks < 6 months (p= 0,664), breastfeeding ≥ 2 years (p= 0,011), and early history of complementary feeding (p= 0,795). Based on these results, it can be cocluded that there in no significant correlaction of exclusive breastfeeding, giving colostrum, giving formula milk/other drinks < 6 months and the early history of complementary feeding to nutrition status of children under five (24-36 months) according to the BB/U index (p > 0,05). Breastfeeding ≥ 2 years has a significant correlaction to nutrition status of children under five (24-36 months) according to the BB/U index (p < 0,05).
