Abstract: Dalam pengembangan produksi Artemisia annua L., diperlukan pengetahuan mengenai kapan saat pemanenan benih yang tepat agar diperoleh benih bermutu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan morfologi tanaman selama fase perkembangan bunga hingga terbentuk benih dan mengetahui daya kecambah benih A. annua pada fase masak fisiologis. Ukuran benih yang tergolong sangat kecil menyulitkan penentuan kemasakan benih. Pengamatan morfologis individu bunga sejak fase awal pembungaan hingga benih masak dapat digunakan untuk memperkirakan saat panen benih. Lokasi penanaman Artemisia annua L. adalah Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana Salaran, kecamatan Getasan, kabupaten Semarang, provinsi Jawa Tengah dengan ketinggian ± 1050mdpl dan kisaran suhu 20. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berbagai tingkatan perkembangan benih Artemisia annua L. berdasarkan perubahan morfologis bunga yang diamati sejak kuncup bunga terbentuk. Waktu pemanenan yang tepat dilakukan adalah ketika tanaman mulai berdesikasi, dan bunga memasuki masa senesens dimana indikasi morfologisnya bunga mengering. Kemasakan benih tercapai dengan ciri kulit benih sudah berubah berwarna abukecokelatan, kotiledon sudah memadat (tidak nampak berair), dan kering.
In the production development of Artemisia annua L., the information about when is the precise time the seed is ready to be harvested to get the best seed quality is necessary. The aims of this research are to know about plant morphological changes during the flower development until the seed is formed and to know about the seed germination of A. annua when reaching the phisiological maturity phase. A minuscule seed makes it difficult to determine the seed maturity. The observation of individual flower morphology from the beginning of flowering phase until reaching maturity are able to be used as forecasting when will the flower able to harvest. Planting location of A. annua is located in Kebun Percobaan (Experimental Garden) Faculty of Agriculture and Business, Satya Wacana Christian University, Salaran, Kabupaten Semarang Central Java with ± 1050masl altitude and average of temperature is 20. The result showed various levels of development of Artemisia annua L. seeds based on the morphological changes of the observed flowers from the bud appears. The right time to harvest is when the plants begin to desiccate, and the flowers enter the senescence period where the morphological indication of the flowers is drying. The maturity of the seeds is achieved by the characteristic that the seed coat has turned gray-brown, the cotyledons are compacted (do not appear watery), and are dry.
