Abstract: Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh literasi keuangan dan mental accounting terhadap perilaku konsumtif generasi milenial dengan gender sebagai pemoderasi. Penelitian dilakukan di Kota Salatiga dengan sampel 100 responden. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa dan karyawan di Salatiga yang lahir pada tahun 1980 sampai 1999. Jenis sampling menggunakan purposive sampling dan pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner secara langsung maupun online. Data yang terkumpul diolah dengan teknik Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). Studi ini menemukan bahwa literasi keuangan berpengaruh negatif terhadap perilaku konsumtif, mental accounting berpengaruh positif terhadap perilaku konsumtif, dan gender memoderasi pengaruh antara literasi keuangan dan mental accounting terhadap perilaku konsumtif.
This research was conducted with a quantitative approach that aims to determine the effect of financial literacy and mental accounting on the consumption behavior of millennial generation with gender as moderating. The study was conducted in Salatiga City with a sample of 100 respondents. The subjects in this study were students and employees in Salatiga who were born in 1980 to 1999. This type of sampling uses purposive sampling and data collection is done through distributing questionnaires directly or online. The collected data is processed using the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) technique. This study found that financial literacy has a negative effect on consumptive behavior, mental accounting has a positive effect on consumer behavior, and gender moderates the effect of financial literacy and mental accounting on consumptive behavior.
