Abstract: Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian komparatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui signifikansi perbedaan prestasi belajar antara siswa kelas IV SD yang berlatar belakang TK dan non TK di SD Negeri se-Kecamatan Banyubiru. Penelitian ini melibatkan 17 SD dengan jumlah total siswa kelas IV SD sebanyak 409 orang siswa yang terdiri dari 262 orang siswa kelas IV SD berlatar belakang TK dan 147 orang siswa kelas IV SD berlatar belakang non TK. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi dokumen daftar nilai hasil belajar semester I dan semester II Tahun Ajaran 2010/2011 yang diperoleh dari nilai murni siswa sebelum dituangkan ke dalam rapor siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan prestasi belajar antara siswa kelas IV SD yang berlatar belakang TK dan non TK di SD Negeri se- Kecamatan Banyubiru pada tahun ajaran 2010/2011. Serta, Siswa kelas IV SD yang berlatar belakang TK terbukti memiliki rata-rata nilai prestasi belajar yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan Siswa kelas IV SD yang berlatar belakang non TK di SD Negeri se-Kecamatan Banyubiru pada tahun ajaran 2010/2011.
This research is a comparative descriptive study which aims to know the significant differences of Learning achievement between fourth grade students of elementary school who atended kindergarten and those who hadn't atended kindergarten in all public elementary school in sub district of Banyubiru. The study involved 17 elementary schools and the total number of fourth grade students from elementary schools is 409 students consisting of 262 fourth grade of elementary school students who atended kindergarten and 147 fourth grade of elementary school students who hadn't attended kindergarten. Data collected through the study documents from list value of learning outcomes in first semester and second semester of Academic Year 2010/2011 was obtained from the real value before it is include into report cards of students. The results showed that there were significant differences of learning achievement between fourth grade students of elementary school who had attended kindergarten and those who hadn't atended kindergarten in all public elementary schools in the sub district of Banyubiru on academic year 2010/2011. As well, fourth grade students of elementary school who had atended kindergarten have a proven learning achievement average scores which are higher than students elementary school who hadn't atended kindergarten in all public elementary school in the sub district of Banyubiru.
