Hubungan antara Perilaku Overprotective Orang Tua dengan Personal Adjustment Remaja yang Merantau

Abstract

Remaja yang hidup berjauhan dengan orang tua dapat membentuk berbagai perubahan yang terjadi pada diri, baik yang positif maupun negatif. Hal ini memicu orang tua untuk berperilaku overprotective secara sadar maupun tidak sadar kepada anaknya. Jika hal ini terjadi secara terus menerus maka remaja akan sulit dalam menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan sekitarnya. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perilaku overprotective orang tua dengan personal adjustment remaja yang merantau. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantiatif dengan desain koresional, dan teknik accidental sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan google form yang disebarkan kepada remaja berusia 15-18 tahun yang sedang merantau dengan jumlah partisipan sebanyak 85 orang. Skala penelitian terdiri dari dua, yaitu skala perilaku overprotective orang tua dan skala personal adjustment. Berdasarkan uji korelasi product moment didapatkan nilai koefisien sebesar 0,094dengan sig = 0,394 (P >0,05), yang menunjukkan bahwa perilaku overprotective orang tua tidak berhubungan dengan personal adjustment remaja yang merantau. Dengan demikian, hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini ditolak.

Adolescents who live far apart from their parents can form various changes that occur in themselves, both positive and negative. This triggers parents to behave overprotectively consciously or unconsciously to their children. If this happens continuously then teenagers will find it difficult to adjust to the surrounding environment. Therefore, this study aims to find out the relationship between the overprotective behavior of parents and the personal adjustment of adolescents who are migrating. This research uses imbuative methods with cholesional design, and accidental sampling techniques. Data collection is done using google form distributed to adolescents aged 15-18 years who are migrating with a total of 85 participants. The research scale consists of two, namely the overprotective behavior scale of parents and the personal adjustment scale. Based on the product moment correlation test obtained a coefficient value of 0,094 with sig = 0.394 (P >0.05), which shows that the overprotective behavior of parents is not related to the personal adjustment of adolescents who are migrating. Thus, the hypothesis proposed in this study was rejected.
