Abstract: This study investigated the implementation of Paul Nation's four strands as a strategy for teaching in an academic speaking class and to find out the students' views toward that teaching strategy. Data collection involved an observation in the academic speaking class to analyze the Paul Nation’s four strands activity. Then, 25 students of the English Language Education FBS UKSW were asked to participate in filling the closedended questionnaire about students’ views toward the implementation of that teaching strategy to find students whose speaking skills get improved. Last, 8 students are selected to be interviewed to figure out how Paul Nation’s four strands can enhance their speaking skills. The findings revealed that Paul Nation's four strands can be applied well in the academic speaking class and successfully improving most of students' macro and micro speaking skills.
