Abstract: Dalam dunia pertanian, serangga memiliki peran positif maupun negatif bagi suatu ekosistem. Peran positif serangga terhadap ekosistem yaitu sebagai polinator, pengendali hayati, bioindikator lingkungan dan pengurai. Untuk peran negatifnya yaitu dapat sebagai hama bagi tanaman dan pembawa virus bagi tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman serangga pada tingkatan ordo dan peranannya di lingkungan pada tingkat famili yang ada di kebun percobaan salaran Fakultas Pertanian dan Bisnis. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada masing-masing titik sampel yang telah ditentukan. Perangkap yang digunakan yaitu pitfall trap dan light trap. Perangkap dipasang selama 12 jam dengan rentang waktu tiga minggu sekali dengan pengambilan empat kali ulangan. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, terdapat delapan ordo yang terperangkap pada pitfall trap dan light trap, ordo-ordo tersebut yaitu Hymenoptera, Homoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Diptera, Lepidoptera dan Dermaptera. Didapatkan 31 famili dari delapan ordo yang didapatkan. Keanekaragaman serangga dengan pitfall trap yang relatif tinggi berada pada ulangan ke-2 di zona 9 dengan indeks keanekaragaman 1,5 dan masuk dalam kategori sedang. Keanekaragaman serangga dengan light trap relatif tinggi yaitu didapatkan pada ulangan ke-2 di zona 2 dengan indeks keanekaragaman 1,76 dan masuk dalam kategori sedang.
In agriculture, insects have both positive and negative roles in an ecosystem. The positive roles of insects in the ecosystem are as pollinators, biologicalcontrollers, environmental bioindicators and decomposers. Its negative role can be a pest for plants and a virus carrier for plants. This study aims to determine the diversity of insects at the order level and their role in the environment at the family level in the Salaran experimental field, Faculty of Agriculture and Business by Using Pitfall Trap and Light Trap. Sampling was carried out in each predetermined zone. The traps used are pitfall traps and light traps. The traps were set for 12 hours with a span of every three weeks with four repetitions taken. Based on observations, there were eight orders trapped in the pitfall trap and light gtrap, the orders were Hymenoptera, Homoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Diptera, Lepidoptera and Dermaptera. There were 31 families from eight orders obtained. Insect diversity with a relatively high pitfall trap was in the 2nd replication in zone 9 with a diversity index of 1.5 and was in the medium category. The diversity of insects with light traps is relatively high, which is obtained in the 2nd replication in zone 2 with a diversity index of 1.76 and is in the medium category.
