Abstract: Kejadian hipertensi semakin meningkat secara global, termasuk pada kelompok lansia. Saat ini, perempuan masih menjadi kelompok yang terbatas dalam akses informasi kesehatan, apalagi di daerah pedesaan. Lansia perempuan yang mengalami hipertensi perlu melakukan perawatan diri agar menghindari komplikasi. Program edukasi terhadap perawatan diri akan hipertensi diharapkan dapat menurunkan kejadian hipertensi. Namun nyatanya angka kejadian hipertensi tetap bertambah. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gethok tular sebagai sumber pengetahuan perawatan diri lansia perempuan dengan hipertensi di pedesaan Jawa. Pengetahuan yang digali dalam penelitian ini adalah sumber pengetahuan sedangkan aktivitas perawatan diri meliputi kegiatan sehari yang lansia perempuan jalani selama mengalami hipertensi. Metode penelitian adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Wawancara mendalam dan observasi telah dilakukan. Pengambilan data dilakukan selama 6 bulan pada lima lansia perempuan dengan hipertensi yang mengikuti kegiatan Posyandu Ngrawan. Mereka adalah lansia jawa yang menetap di Desa Ngrawan, Kabupaten Semarang. Sebagai sumber triangulasi, peneliti mewawancarai bidan dan kader posbindu. Hasil penelitian adalah sumber pengetahuan tentang perawatan diri diperoleh dari tenaga kesehatan posbindu dan tetangga sekitar rumah lansia. Adanya kebiasaan gethuk tular dalam penyebaran informasi tentang hipertensi di pedesaan. Selama menunggu antrian pemeriksaan di Posbindu, mereka bertukar cerita tentang penanganan hipertensi. Walaupun kelima partisipan belum memahami penyakit hipertensi dan penyebabnya. Mereka telah melakukan praktik perawatan diri, mereka masih aktif bekerja, berobat ke posbindu, mandi 2 kali sehari, mengkonsumsi daun alpukat dan sirsak, Aktivitas yang dilakukan yakni aktif bekerja setiap hari, melakukan pekerjaan rumah tangga seperti memasak makanan untuk keluarga, dan berobat ke posbindu setiap bulan. Bahkan setelah obat medis habis, mereka meramu minuman dari daun sirsak atau daun alpukat untuk mengatasi gejala hipertensi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa gethuk tular sebagai pendekatan dalam pemberian informasi cara mengatasi hipertensi pada lansia perempuan yang tinggal di pedesaan jawa. The incidence of hypertension is increasing globally, including in the elderly group. Currently, women are still a group with limited access to health information, especially in rural areas. Elderly women who have hypertension need to take care of themselves to avoid complications. Education programs for self-care of hypertension are expected to reduce the incidence of hypertension. However, the incidence of hypertension is still increasing. For this reason, this study aims to describe gethok tular as a source of knowledge on self-care for elderly women with hypertension in rural Java. The knowledge explored in this study is a source of knowledge while self-care activities include daily activities that elderly women do while experiencing hypertension. The research method is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. In-depth interviews and observations were carried out. Data collection was carried out for 6 months on five elderly women with hypertension who participated in the Posbindu Ngrawan activities. They are Javanese elderly who live in Ngrawan Village, Semarang Regency. As a source of triangulation, researchers interviewed midwives and posbindu cadres. The results of the study were sources of knowledge about self-care obtained from posbindu health workers and neighbors around the elderly's home. Habit contagious gethuk in disseminating information about hypertension in rural areas. While waiting for the check-in queue at the Posbindu, they exchanged stories about the management of hypertension. Although the five participants did not understand hypertension and its causes. They have practiced self-care, they are still actively working, go to the posbindu, take a bath 2 times a day, consume avocado and soursop leaves. The activities carried out are actively working every day, doing household chores such as cooking food for the family, and going to the posbindu each month. Even after the medical drugs run out, they mix drinks from soursop leaves or avocado leaves to treat hypertension symptoms. This study concludes that gethuk tular an approach in providing information on how to treat hypertension in elderly women living in rural Java.
